title: The dot Command
description: The CLI for setup, sync, and git helpers across managed repos.
sidebar:
  label: Overview
---

`dot` is the compiled CLI for these dotfiles ([Bun](https://bun.sh) + [Effect](https://effect.website) v4), stowed to `~/.local/bin/dot`. It owns setup, sync, stow, health checks, desktop helpers, and the git tooling used day to day. Related commands are grouped under a shared first word, such as `dot git commit` and `dot agent lint`.

:::note[On the server]
This is the same `dot` as the desktop. Its desktop, Omarchy and pacman commands are listed below but do not apply here yet. See the [server overview](/server/overview/#still-open).
